Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news and audio.

Note: The Jets earned a split in their two game home stand after they held on for the 6-5 win over the Chicago Blackhawks last night.  It was a game that saw Finnish sniper Patrik Laine score two more goals giving him an incredible 18 goals in November and the first of which was the 100th of his career, making him the fourth youngest in NHL history to achieve that mark.  In light of concerns about how the team played defensively we learned that Dustin Byfuglien did, in fact, suffer a concussion on Tuesday against the Penguins and will be placed on IR by the Jets.  Today they are scheduled to practice at the IcePlex at 11 AM and will thereafter depart for a three game road trip which begins in New Jersey on Saturday night.

Note II:  The Moose kicked off their six-game California road trip with a depleted roster but won 5-1 over San Diego thanks in large part to the play in net of Eric Comrie, a natural hat trick by Logan Shaw (all three of which came on the power play). The Moose have a re-match with Chase De Leo and his Gulls tonight with puck drop at 9 pm CT.

Winnipeg Sun: Byfuglien out with concussion after all. When I saw the Jets big man try to get back to the bench and his legs wouldn’t support him I was rather surprised to see him return to the game. Looks like he should have in fact been kept from returning based on this news.

Winnipeg Sun: Ken’s Notebook. Wieber looks at 1) Ehlers scores hat trick in Jets win. 2) Laine hits triple digits. 3) Schilling, Niku draw in vs Blackhawks.
