Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets had the day off on Friday as they get set for six straight games here in Winnipeg.  Today they are scheduled to practice at 11 am.  We will have full a Practice Report on site.

Note II:  Following last night’s Moose home opener the team is scheduled to be skating this morning before a re-match tonight with Belleville at 6 pm at Bell MTS Place.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Time for action? Roslovic will show Jets when he’s ready.  He was one of the best players in the AHL for 2016-17 and into 2017-18 before getting recalled to the Jets when Mark Scheifele was injured last December.  Do we see him flip spots with Bryan Little sooner rather than later?

Winnipeg Free Press:  First four Jets games reveal a few flaws.  (Paywall).  Mike has some questions after the season began a week ago including: 1) Sure, it’s early, but what the heck has gotten into these guys? 2) Sure, it’s early, but what’s happened to the potent offence? 3) Sure, it’s early, but what to do about the blue-line blunders?

Winnipeg Free Press: Tenacious Tanev a super-skilled fourth-liner for Jets. (Paywall).  There was uncertainty when he first broke into the league as to what type of player he would develop into.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Vesalainen has the skill set to be more than a prototypical power forward. (Paywall).  This is music to Jets fans ears.

Sportsnet: Josh Morrissey on cutting edge of change in NHL.  Remember when some considered him a bust?  This is why you don’t judge a prospect too early in their career.
