Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news and audio.

Note: The Jets split the two games on the road with a 5-1 win on Thursday followed by last night’s penalty filled affair which saw that score from the first game get reversed against the Jets as the Stars took it 5-1 in Dallas last night.

Note II:  The Moose dropped their season opener on Friday night in Iowa against central division rival Wild and will look for some revenge this afternoon when the puck drops at 3 pm in Des Moines.  Will be interesting to see what is the status of Jansen Harkins who left the game at the end of the 2nd period after he took a puck to the side of his face.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Discipline an issue as Winnipeg surrenders three PP markers. Lots to digest from Ken in his breakdown of the game as well as a look at the first couple of games for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets go down 5-1 to Dallas Stars. (Paywall). Mike recaps the game as he saw it last night in Texas.

Winnipeg Free Press: Oddly enough, Laine stifled by Stars. (Paywall). Even with the level of success he has had against Dallas previously the Finnish sniper acknowledged even before the game that it wasn’t a guarantee of future success.

Dallas Morning News: Stars pass season’s first big test by dismantling division foe Winnipeg. A breakdown of the game from the perspective of someone who covers the Stars.
