Winnipeg Sun:  The new normal for JetsHigh expectations for the Jets now and in the future.

Winnipeg Sun:  Goose egg sucked for EhlersJets captain Blake Wheeler spoke about trial by fire and some of the young players like a Nikolaj Ehlers likely learned quite a bit during this deep playoff run which can be used in the future.

Winnipeg Sun: Veteran Jets D-man Enstrom may have played his last gameHe seemed to be a bit of a lightning rod these past couple of seasons.  Of course his selfless decision to allow himself to be exposed bailed out the organization during the Expansion Draft.

Winnipeg Sun: Stastny leaves door open: Jets will try to keep veteran centre around It certainly won’t be easy considering all the signings that still need to happen this summer.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets enter off-season with heightened expectations.  (Paywall).  Just making the playoffs won’t be where the bar is set anymore as this team now will live with higher expectations.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets black and blue, but nothing broken, Maurice says.  (Paywall).  Colour me surprised that there weren’t more players indicating that they were dealing with any significant issues after the playoffs.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Toby Enstrom likely done in Winnipeg.  (Paywall).  While Enstrom is not known for being particularly talkative with the media, when the Jets communications staff said the Dman was “long gone” when requested during media availability it seemed to feel like the end of the road for the player who has given so much to this organization.

Winnipeg Free Press:  ‘The quicker the better,’ Trouba says about signing new deal with Jets.  (Paywall).  Trouba laughed when he was asked about the previous negotiations (which saw it drag into the regular season) and it was clear he would like to avoid that.  Would have to think if there is a deal to be had then this might be the first deal that gets done.

NHLcom: Jets want to bring back Stastny, get Hellebuyck signed long term. Quite the laundry list for the Jets GM to get done this summer.

Sportsnet:  No guarantees for Jets’ future as Cheveldayoff’s busy off-season begins. It will be a tall task to get this team refocused on the task at hand next season but that is why they get paid the big bucks.

TSN:  The gut-wrenching reality of playoff goaltendingSometimes the difference can be so small but enough to create an imbalance that gives one team the advantage as we saw in the Conference Final.

CBC: Jets bullish about next season but looking forward to rest and regroup. While I’m sure they will appreciate the rest there was no doubt this was an unhappy group about being finished with the 2017-18 season.

Globe and Mail:  The Jets are out, but Winnipeg is definitely ‘in’ The run the Jets went on has certainly captured the attention of folks from coast to coast.

Jets video:

TSN: How should the Jets handle RFAs Trouba and Hellebuyck? The Jets have a number of restricted free agents this offseason, with the biggest being Jacob Trouba and Connor Hellebyuck. That’s Hockey discusses what Winnipeg should do with its two biggest RFAs.

Sportsnet: Jets believe they are building something special. Tim and Sid talk about the Winnipeg Jets being eliminated from the NHL Playoffs and what the team needs to do this summer.

Jets audio:
