Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets were off on Saturday following a pair of back-to-back games on the road Thursday and Friday night.  We will have to wait to see how Mark Scheifele is after he took a bad hit from Boone Jenner in Columbus.  They hit the ice at 9:30 am for morning skate.  Update:  Check out the latest in our pre-game report.

Note II:  The Moose are off today following a pair of games this weekend against Belleville.  Last night Manitoba dropped a 3-2 decision in OT despite looking like they’d earn the split.

Winnipeg Free Press:  ‘Too slow:’ Jets head coach bemoans team’s power play.  (Paywall).  We spoke about it yesterday on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show, this team needs to show a bit more alacrity on their power play chances.

Sportsnet:  Jets taking calls on goaltender Michael HutchinsonPerhaps the team is hoping to get Jamie Phillips back up with the Moose to give him the chance and if so, it makes sense that they would be taking calls on Hutchinson.
