Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets return to game action as they kick off this three game road trip today in St. Louis.  Puck drops tonight at 7:00 pm.  As always keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for pre and post game news and be sure to follow us on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.

Note II:  Jack Roslovic participated in (and won) last night’s AHL All-Star tournament in Allentown, PA.  He will now join his Moose teammates who have a few days off as the team prepares to return to action with a practice on Thursday in Winnipeg.  They have a pair of games this weekend before heading out on another six game road trip.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Little not ready to give up on playoff push.  Players like Little know that the years fly by in the NHL and that is getting magnified as the league gets even younger.  While his play seems to be on the incline despite his “age” he knows the time for winning is right now.  As we spoke about on Saturday’s IC Hockey Show he is the type of player you need to have on a winning team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Perreault won’t pull any punches over slash.  Former teammates or not Mathieu Perreault (rightly so) is less than pleased with the guy he used to play on the Ducks with back in 2013-14 after Corey Perry slashed and broke his finger.

Winnipeg Sun:  Pavelec back versus Blues.  It was a somewhat unexpected decision by the Jets bench boss to go back with the veteran netminder who has started five of the last six Jets games.  Especially in light of the start that Connor Hellebuyck gave the Jets in his first start in quite some time.

Winnipeg Sun:  Could Jets be anything but sellers?  Ken gives some solid analysis to the Jets current position and what he think they most likely will end up doing as we get closer to the trade deadline.

Winnipeg Sun:  Five keys to Jets vs. Blues.  Ken’s list includes: 1) Central Intelligence. 2) Terrific Trouba. 3) Scheifele’s heating up. 4) Pucks to the net. 5) Eyes on Tarasenko.  And Ken’s big matchup is Patrik Laine vs. Jay Bouwmeester.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets have ‘good jump’ as they get back on the ice after all-star break.  (Paywall).  Can the Jets keep their good numbers against the central division rolling?  If they can it will hold them in good stead over the next few weeks.

TSN:  Are the Jets good enough to make the playoffs this season?  (Video).  With Winnipeg sitting three points back of the Flames for the second wild card spot in the West, are the Jets good enough to make the playoffs this season? That’s Hockey weighs in.

Sportsnet:  Which Western GMs are under the most pressure?  A look around the west including touching on Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Illegal Curve:  Jets Injury ReportCoach Maurice provided updates on Mathieu Perreault, Drew Stafford, Marko Dano, Ben Chiarot and Tyler Myers.
