Note:  The Jets won two and lost a disappointing game in their three game road trip but all anyone was talking about was the hit that Patrik Laine took in Buffalo that knocked the rookie out of the game.  We may get an update from Jets coach Paul Maurice after practice today.  Update:  Laine has a concussion according to coach Maurice.

Note II:  The Moose will conclude their six game home stand when they face off against the Wild in a re-match less than 19 hours later as they look to get revenge for a 4-2 loss on Saturday.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  At the halfway mark, Cheveldayoff talks key moments in Jets’ season.  (Paywall).  Jeff goes one on one with the Jets GM for this article.

Times Herald:  Early-season concussions scared Jets’ Drew Stafford.  With good reason.  As Stafford says in the piece head trauma isn’t anything to be taken lightly.

Winnipeg Sun:  Bad day in Buffalo.  It all started so well with Nikolaj Ehlers scoring his ninth goal in nine games and then former Sabres Drew Stafford and Joel Armia getting goals against their former team but after a Buffalo time out it all turned around.  Ken breaks it all down.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets hit rampaging buzz saw in Buffalo.  (Paywall).  Once again the Jets were in a must win game against a Sabres team they had to beat…..but they were unable to secure the two points…or one point.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Three consecutive wins elude Winnipeg once more.  (Paywall).  It looked like the eighth time would be the charm but it was not to be.

Sportsnet:  Lehner on scrum with Byfuglien: ‘Too bad the ref came in between’.  (Video).  I don’t care how bad Lehner’s temperature is….it wouldn’t stand up very well against Byfuglien.

Sabres 4 Jets 3:

Illegal Curve:  Post-game recap.  Stats as well as audio from Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and coach Maurice.

Illegal Curve: Patrik Laine leaves game in Buffalo during 3rd period.  It was a hit that was felt back in Winnipeg and with the concern of Manitobans everywhere there was a sense of relief when the Finnish rookie was seen walking to the bus under his own power.  But we will have to wait to see if there is any news.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Moose get doubled up by the Wild 4-2.  It looked like the Moose were going to have themselves a nice little Saturday but instead they got handed a tough defeat.  Post-game audio from JC Lipon, Peter Stoykewych and Coach Vincent.

Illegal Curve:  Moose sign Greg Husson to ATO as backup goalie.  With Eric Comrie out of the lineup the Moose had to get creative to find themselves a backup for Ondrej Pavelec.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Moose hit roadblock, drop second in row.  (Paywall).  After a solid few games the Moose have run into a rough patch.  Mike breaks down the game here.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Chance to run with the herd.  (Paywall).  On his way back from the Jets roadtrip Jeff managed to get this in-depth story of the Moose backup goalie.
