Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets will hit the ice at 10:30 am at the MTS Centre for a pre-game skate with puck drop at 7:o0 pm. Keep it locked to illegalcurve.com and on social media including Twitter|Facebook |Instagram for all the pre and post game news.

Jets news:

Metro:  Time is ticking for Jacob Trouba.  Nice timing by Hust as Trouba is now the last RFA standing with the Ducks signing of their RFA Hampus Lindholm.

Winnipeg Sun:  Not yet time to listen to haters.  Memo to NHL players:  Lay off social media.  Especially in a Canadian city.  It is one thing if someone uses their real name (like that Dave Minuk fellow…give him a follow I say) but the 1000s of people who use anonymous accounts or use pseudonyms and then attack with impunity has really lowered the level of discourse.

Winnipeg Sun:  Armia dazzled against Stars.  No question he was wowing fans and turning heads all night long on Tuesday.  Yesterday he said in his chat with the media “I just try to concentrate on next game and not think about the future that much” but fans have to hope that he can bring his last game effort tonight against those same Stars.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Lowry, Armia and Matthias creating chances for Jets and turning heads.  (Paywall).  They were certainly buzzing in Dallas.  Will we continue to see success from this trio?  We will see what coach Maurice does with his lines in the morning skate.

Winnipeg Free Press:  NHL teams catching up to Stars’ fast-paced style.  (Paywall).   Just imagine that five of the top nine usual roster players were missing for Dallas when the Jets played them on Tuesday.  Stars GM Jim Nill, who was on our show NHL This Week last night, has formed quite the dynamic group in Texas.

Sportsnet:  30 Thoughts.   Number of Jets related ones including #7 (goalies), #11 (Trouba), #12 (Morrissey), #13 (Wheeler as captain) and #22 (Hawerchuk taking draw in 87).

Illegal Curve:  Jets Practice Report.  Winnipeg held an off ice workout yesterday but we heard from Joel Armia, Mathieu Perreault and coach Paul Maurice.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Brian Munz joins Hustler & Lawless to discuss the Winnipeg Jets’ performance in Dallas, a resulting injury to Drew Stafford, and the opportunity coach Paul Maurice is providing his young players.
