Note:  Game two of the five game home stand has the Jets up against Manitoban Travis Hamonic and his New York Islanders teammates tonight with a 7 pm puck drop.

Note II:  The Moose will travel today to Texas where they will play a couple of games this weekend.

Note III:  World Cup of Hockey reveal day was yesterday and four Jets players were selected for three teams in this eight team tournament.  Team USA (Wheeler and Byfuglien).  Team North America (Hellebuyck).  Czech Republic (Pavelec).

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  World Cup gives Jets’ best a chance to shine on international stage. (Paywall).  Are fans pumped for this tournament?  They will have a chance to watch at least four and possibly seven of their Jets playing on this stage.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets’ young guns ready to step up.  (Paywall).  Players like Scheifele and Trouba have already begun to step up their roles on the team and that will only increase in the future.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Manitoba Moose goaltender Connor Hellebuyck joins Hustler & Lawless after being named to the initial roster for the World Cup of Hockey. Hellebuyck discusses how the idea of being named to the so-called “Young Guns” roster hadn’t entered his head until just days before being named.
