Note:  The Jets return to Winnipeg following the NHL All-Star break and will hit the ice for a skate at the IcePlex today.  Unlike January, which boasted a heavy home schedule, the team will only play four home games in the city in February starting with a tilt against the Dallas Stars tomorrow night.

Note II:  The Moose have a few days off during the AHL All-Star break.  Eric Comrie is participating in the game tonight in Syracuse, NY which starts tonight at 6 pm.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Weak loonie doesn’t put Canadian NHL teams at disadvantage.  (Paywall).  For fans who were concerned about the fluctuations in the dollar this article is for you.

Winnipeg Sun:  Cheveldayoff succeeds in critical area.  The team has certainly been lauded for the way they have drafted the last five years.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Eric Comrie named top goaltender at the All Star Skill Competition.  The rookie Moose goalie continues to impress.

Globalnews:  Moose send forward Axel Blomqvist to ECHL.  Ironically the Tulsa Oilers had tweeted the day before he was sent down saying “A very Happy Birthday to @AxelBlomqvist ?! You’re missed in Tulsa!”.
