Note:  Both the Jets and Moose stumbled into the Christmas break suffering two straight losses on the road (Winnipeg to Edmonton/Calgary and Manitoba to Milwaukee/Chicago) after a win at home.  Both teams find themselves on the outside of the playoffs looking in.  Jets return to action with a game against the Penguins on December 27th here in Winnipeg while the Moose will face the Wild also in Winnipeg on the 31st.

Note II:  Tonight is the final NHL This Week with Illegal Curve Hockey of 2015 as the guys host a year end Jets Roundtable featuring Patrick Williams (NHL.com) and Scott Billeck (Canadian Press).  Tune into TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 6 pm for the two hour show.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Slide means Jets are closer to basement than playoffs.  It is going to be a long climb back to relevance for this Jets squad.

NHL.com:  Rosen’s Mail Bag.  The question is “What is the expected return for Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd, and would any teams want both if the Jets take back or retain salary?” and Rosen gives his answer.

CBC:  Jets GM’s failure to plan is a plan to fail.  Looks like it is time for Festivus and folks are ready to air their grievances.

Winnipeg Free Press: Ehlers confident he’ll break out after scoring just once in last 25 games for Jets.  The young rookie still has some hiccups to his game but may be close to breaking out of his slump.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Flames rack up the points as stumbling Jets rack up another loss.  The Jets had a chance to head into Christmas break with a good feeling.  Instead they lost to a scorching hot Flames team who has now won ten straight games at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Winnipeg Sun:  Dismal Christmas for Jets.  A tall task is getting taller as the losses continue to mount and the Jets chances at the playoffs get father and father away.

Calgary Herald:  Flames 10th home win in a row.  Read about the game from an opposition beat writer.

TSN:  A new chapter in the Jets’ goaltending story.  Right now that chapter isn’t a very long one.

Sportsnet:  Hellebuyck has arrived as the Jets’ new starter.  Plenty on the Jets top goalie prospect.

NBC Sports:  As Jets fall further back in playoff race, decisions loom for Cheveldayoff.  Big decisions are coming for this team.  Will it be sooner rather than later?
