Note:  After a big win over the Canucks to end their losing streak the Jets have the day off today.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Struggling Canucks help fragile Jets regain some mojo.  (Paywall).  Sometimes you need to take advantage of opportunities and that is exactly what Winnipeg did last night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  The monkey is now off Scheifele’s back.  (Paywall).  His first of two goals last night was certainly not a wrister with his usual velocity but it was enough to get him back in business.  He scored another and then passed up the opportunity for a hat trick to give his line mate Drew Stafford a shot at his second goal of the night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Lowering Lowry was no demotion.  (Paywall).  It is clear that something needed to be done to get his battery recharged and reset and perhaps that was the move to get him going again.

Winnipeg Sun:  Scheifele and Stafford score two goals apiece as Jets bust out slump with win over Canucks.  The Stafford (2g 1a)/Scheifele(2g 1a)/Perreault(3a) line finished with 9 points.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets regain some much-needed confidence.  Paul adds his take on last night’s win over Vancouver including 1) coach Maurice’s office becoming a “growly” place 2) sophomore slump 3) still leaky 4) near miss 5) Pavelec using his head 6) All star comments.

Vancouver Sun:  Jets lower boom on visitors’ tailspin.  Read about the game from a Canucks beat writer’s perspective.

CBC:  Getting back in the win column is a start.  Adam writes about the importance of last night’s win but says  he would like to see how the rest of the home stand goes before he wants to plan a parade.

Sports Illustrated:  Youthful Jets come together, learn resiliency in early season struggles.  Whenever you have three rookies and other young prospects there are going to be some bumps in the road.

Sportsnet:  New York Islanders trying to trade Travis Hamonic.  And one of his apparent destinations is right here in his home Province.
