Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Jets and Moose news.

Note:  The Jets return to practice today following a day off on Saturday as they get ready to play a matinee against the Islanders in Brooklyn on Monday at 12 pm ct.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Ehlers and Petan impress with solid defensive game.  (Paywall).  No questions these players have offensive aptitude but they have also showed that they aren’t afraid to show their coach a commitment to defence.

Winnipeg Free Press:  The power of threes.  (Paywall).  Ed writes about line combinations and what makes some work and others not so much.

Winnipeg Sun:  First things first for Ehlers.  I think we will be seeing lots of ‘firsts’ for Nikolaj Ehlers throughout his rookie season.

Ehlers heads up ice

Winnipeg Sun:  Do Jets have the best defence?  Tons of talent and playing within the system created by coach Paul Maurice has set up the back end for success.

Moose  news:

Illegal Curve:  Moose lose in a shootout to Marlies.  Peter breaks down the second AHL contest for Manitoba.  The post also contains audio from coach Keith McCambridge and defenceman Josh Morrissey.

Winnipeg Sun:  Moose plagued by penalties.  Guess we are going to have to start using that discipline word for the AHL squad.
