Note:  After last night’s 3-1 victory over the Devils the undefeated Jets have the day off today and will get back into action with a practice on Sunday.  Then they play at 12 noon ct on Monday in Brooklyn against the Islanders.

Note II:  Be sure to tune into TSN 1290 Winnipeg for three hours of NHL hockey talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show starting this morning at 9 am until 12 pm.  Guests:  At 9:30 AM, Dave Maloney (Rangers Analyst on MSG). Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hutch’s season gets off to good start.  (Paywall).  Coach Maurice clearly wants both goalies to get into a routine and still has confidence in his young backup.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Chiarot takes tips from Duck.  (Paywall). The Hamilton connection as well as an association with Moose GM Craig Heisinger has proven beneficial for the young Jets defenceman.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets spoil home opener for New Jersey with 3-1 win.  Ed breaks down the Jets win in this recap.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets make it two-for-two.  Ken was also in New Jersey and provides this analysis of the win.

CBC:  Scheifele coming into his own as offensive driver.  He has certainly scored a couple of impressive goals to start the season.

ESPN:  Jets reaping the benefits of competition between goaltenders.  Fans saw the value last season of having a 1/1a and are hoping the team continues to get improved play from both goalies this season.

Illegal Curve:  Burmistrov given warning over check to the head.  He was clearly relieved that he wouldn’t be on the receiving end of any additional discipline from the league.
