Note: The Jets return to practice today at the IcePlex starting at 11 am.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Hutchinson’s first start a letdown. While he looked great to end last season in the NHL and then he went on a fantastic AHL playoff run to the finals there are a lot of expectations on the 24 year old back up netminder.
Winnipeg Free Press: Afterburners all the time. The Jets have seen just three games into the season what happens when you don’t start the game off properly.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets can’t match quickness of top-tier teams. It was a baptism by fire when the Jets went to California to play two very tough squads as their new systems got tested. Still plenty of season to go as they try and get them implemented.
Winnipeg Sun: Truth of Jets’ ability lay somewhere between impressive win and depressing losses. It was quite the season opening win and while fans were still drunk on the victory they quickly sobered to the reality of the California teams and what they can do to an opponent. As Ken writes it is a long season so no point in throwing in the towel just three games into the year.
Winnipeg Sun: Paul Maurice gives Adam Lowry thumbs up for first action. It is a big jump from the AHL to the NHL but Lowry seems to be handling it and has even earned some praise from his head coach.
TSN 1290 Winnipeg: The Big Show (audio). The Winnipeg Jets dropped two straight games following their season opening victory however Jets color analyst Shane Hnidy feels that progress was made in the team’s 4-1 setback to the LA Kings.
