The sound of the 3 pm ET whistle bell has gone off and the Winnipeg Jets have not made any moves on Trade Deadline day.
About the only thing notable today was the news that the Jets were still trying to find someone to take Dustin Byfuglien and confirmation from GM Kevin Cheveldayoff of what was long suspected that the big Dman won’t be playing this season.
The Jets made two trades last week including the acquisition of Dylan DeMelo from Ottawa for a 3rd round pick in 2020 on February 18th and then on February 21st they sent a conditional 4th round pick in 2021 to Vegas for Cody Eakin.
This leaves the Jets with their 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th round picks at the upcoming 2020 draft in Montreal.
Upcoming UFAs and RFAs this summer:
UFAs: Cody Eakin, Nick Shore, Logan Shaw, Gabriel Bourque, Dmitry Kulikov, Nathan Beaulieu, Dylan DeMelo, Anthony Bitetto, Luca Sbisa, Mark Letestu and Laurent Brossoit.
RFAs: Jack Roslovic, Jansen Harkins, Mason Appleton and Sami Niku.
Pretty clear that Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is going to have some work during the off season. His media availability is coming up soon and we will have that audio for you on site. (Update: You can listen to his media availability here.)
