Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice says there is no update on Bryan Little

Last week Jets bench boss Paul Maurice was interviewed by Tim Campbell of NHL.com and Maurice indicated this in regards to the potential of veteran centre Bryan Little returning to the lineup if the 2019-2020 season resumes:

“All things are possible, [but] I don’t have an answer yet,” Maurice said. “He’s going to have to get tested but yes, (it’s possible).”

Today during his conference call Maurice was asked for further clarity about the potential return of Little and he said this:

“Nothings changed with that. It’s just the timeline that was set out that we would have far better look after some tests at some point in the summertime when the doctors think its the right time to do that, we’ll go back in.  So there hasn’t been a weekly or daily checkup here.  We said ‘OK we’ll see you in the summer Bryan’.  He’s in Winnipeg rehabbing and healing here.

So that was more related to all of these players, Bryan’s obviously a significant injury, but there are a number of players who would be out for three or four months who were coming back either next year or were they going to make it for the start of playoffs.  That possibility is there but we won’t know that until later.”

Of course as the pause in the NHL season drags further and further into the spring it would appear less and less likely that there will be a resumption of the 2019-20 season rendering the above topic moot.
