Jets bench boss Paul Maurice spoke today in Vancouver as his team gets ready for the 1st round of the 2019 NHL Draft.

Coach Paul Maurice scrum topics:  NHL rule changes.  Would the centremen make the call as to which side they choose or would he make it?  Did he watch the playoffs this year and what did he think of the Blues Stanley Cup victory?  Does having the Blues “on the ropes” make it tougher to swallow?  Does it ease the sting going out to the Cup champs?  Did the Blues teach us what it takes to be successful?  On using a goalie that wasn’t high in their depth chart to have success.  Has what Craig Berube done raised the bar to an impossible level?  What was his reaction to the Trouba trade? (Starts at 11 minute mark).  Would Pionk be a candidate to play with Morrissey?   Potential for a backend that could be in flux.  Would they consider adding to their leadership group?  Do they, as a staff, need any philosophical changes?  Is this weekend different for him with the Jets having a 1st round pick this year?  On “ruffled feathers” in the room.  (Starts at 16 minute mark).  Did guys come into last season “happy”?  His thoughts about taking on Jacob Trouba/Brendan Lemieux for the season opener.  The Jets defensive commitment.  On the top priority heading into next season.  Will he seek out Dave Quinn?  Has the coaches camaraderie evolved through the years?  On his excitement level for this season with the young prospects about to make an impact.  Are Copp and Roslovic under consideration for centre this season?  On having Hellebuyck/Brossoit for next season.
