He has been out almost two months after taking a blindside hit against the Hawks in Chicago on January 19th. The original assessment was he would be out a month but it was upgraded to the two month timeline.
He switched out of the non-contact uniform to a regular one in the past week and while he wasn’t ready to return against the Golden Knights on Friday it seemed like he could be a player against the Coyotes on Monday.
Today Jets bench boss Paul Maurice indicated “Ya there’s a very strong possibility as long as he gets through today. A pretty good skate, a good pace today and then feels good in the morning then we’ll look at putting him back in.”.
Lowry has four goals and six assists in 47 games for Winnipeg but his return will help solidify the third or fourth lines (depending on where he slots back).
Coach Maurice said they would look to put Lowry back in at centre with Copp on the wing.
