Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice gets 500th career NHL win

Coach Maurice gets 500th NHL win.

Coach Maurice wins 500

Lost in the hubbub of Mathieu Perreault’s four goals, Gail McDonald’s almost million dollar win and the Jets scoring eight goals in the game was the fact that the Jets bench boss picked up his 500th NHL coaching victory.

He moves into a tie with Toe Blake for 19th all time and sits one behind the venerable Pat Burns.  Just six coaches in the Top 20 are currently coaching in the NHL including Quenneville (734), Hitchcock (639), Ruff (630), Trotz (580), Sutter (527) and Babcock (507).

Following the win he answered questions about the win and what it meant to him which you can listen to here:
