Notable:

New Jet Tyler Toffoli was warmly welcomed (both inside and out) by Winnipeg.

After the Jets built themselves a good lead on the shot clock (8-2) they finally got rewarded as Neal Pionk puts home his fifth of the year off a nice pass by Mason Appleton. Number 22 now had 5A in his last four games.

In the middle frame the Caps held the shot edge but Alex Iafallo deftly tipped home a Josh Morrissey shot to make it 2-0. Morrissey continues to add to his apple cart with his 45th assist of the season.

And they added to their lead in the 3rd period with Mark Scheifele finding Kyle Connor to make it a 3-0 lead for Winnipeg. That was Connor’s 27th goal of the season.

That’s the 36th shutout of Connor Hellebuyck‘s career.
