Winnipeg Jets Afternoon Links

Getting you set up for tonight’s Jets game with the latest news, video and audio.

Note: Puck drop is at 7 pm CST tonight as the Jets go up against the Stars tonight. After the game, be sure to check out illegalcurve.com for all the post-game reaction.

Note II: We want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show once the final buzzer sounds.

Note III: When the clock struck 1 PM CST the news came out that Austin Poganski had cleared waivers which is huge news for a Moose club that is firing right now and adding more offence can only help out this top AHL club. The team will still need to make some moves later this afternoon (expect Perfetti/Reichel to be moved to LTIR) in order to be cap compliant. (Update: That’s just what they did).

Jets news:

TSN: Dubois delivering in second season with Jets. While it hasn’t been a banner season for the local NHL club there have certainly been some very bright spots and Dubois alongside Kyle Connor have been the two brightest by a mile. Travis has more on what Dubois has been able to do this season in Winnipeg.

Sportsnet: Vibe around Jets locker room getting stronger as they’re getting healthierBrenden Dillon and Kyle Connor discuss what getting key players back into the lineup and locker room, like Nik Ehlers and Andrew Copp does for a team’s confidence and momentum going into such an important stretch of the season.

Sportsnet: Jets’ Dillon relishes the opportunity to trash talk text his former mates. Defenceman Brenden Dillon discusses whether he has any extra charge facing a former team, like the Stars, where there’s still many of his former teammates and friends, and I think you’ll like his answer.

TSN: Jets feel sense of optimism with Ehlers, Copp set to returnNikolaj Ehlers and Andrew Copp are set to return to the lineup for the Winnipeg Jets, and forward Kyle Connor says the team is “thrilled” for them, while head coach Dave Lowry and d-man Brenden Dillon agree that Ehlers specifically will bring a special element that the team has lacked. Editor’s Note: Copp is obviously already back in the lineup.

TSN: Nikolaj Ehlers chats his “weird hockey style” with Jesse Pollock of BardownWhen you think of weird hockey style, Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers’ name probably isn’t the first one that comes to mind. But maybe it should be? In case you didn’t already know, the Danish star isn’t your average player when it comes to style. Do you use any of his tricks? Jesse had a chance to chat with him and learned a whole lot about one of his favourite players.

The Rod Pederson Show: Darren Dreger talks Winnipeg Jets. Tim Peel came out with some comments that were quite critical about Mark Scheifele after his game against the Montreal Canadiens, were these fair or foul? Darren Dreger from TSN joins to talk about it and give us his opinion on it! He also talks about a potentially Jets rebuild, Russians in the NHL, and more!
