Getting you set up for tonight’s Jets game with the latest news, video and audio.

Note: Puck drop is at 7:00 pm CT tonight as the Jets will continue their four-game series with the Flames, which will be the final contest of this seven game homestand. After the game, be sure to check us out for all the post-game reaction.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Snapshots. Ted looks at a few things including: 1) A year away from Olympics, making Team Canada is on Scheifele’s mind. 2) Days off. 3) Copp as ice time leader. 4) Maurice likes offence.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets slam NHL’s new COVID restrictions. Considering the only player on the NHL’s CPRA list in Canada is Pierre-Luc Dubois and that’s due to federal quarantine rules perhaps the NHL should have been a bit more nuanced in their approach to what happens in Canada vs the United States.  Doesn’t appear that this one-size fits all solution actually does fit all after hearing what Andrew Copp and Mark Scheifele had to say.

Sportsnet: Sam Bennett to be healthy scratch. Some news ahead of tonight’s game regarding the Jets opponent.

CBC:  With no fans in the stands, Winnipeg Jets’ ‘sweetener’ adds crowd noises to gamesI don’t really pay attention to it being in the arena although I am told by those watching at home that it does add an element to the TV broadcast.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Blake Wheeler’s play so far in 2020-21 is cause for concern — but not condemnation. (Paywall). You’d think it was July right now in Winnipeg with how hot the temperature is in this town. Murat looks at the issue which had tongues wagging across the prairies and beyond.

Illegal Curve: Jets vs.  Flames pre-game reportThe Jets held a morning skate followed by a media availability before they take on Calgary. Check out the projected lines and D pairs and hear from Andrew Copp, Mark Scheifele as well as coach Maurice.
