What we saw from the Manitoba Moose on Day 9 of training camp

While the Moose were focused on production day on Monday, a number of Jets moves had an impact on the AHL club of Manitoba. Danny Zhilkin and Henry Thrun both passed through waivers and were assigned to the Moose. Then Winnipeg claimed goalie Clay Stevenson, which resulted in Domenic DiVincentiis and Brayden Yager also being sent down in order to make the Jets roster compliant.

What does it mean for Manitoba? The team gets a significant boost of young talent up front with Zhilkin and Yager, added experience on the blue line with Thrun, and a return to the Milic-DiVincentiis goalie tandem.

Skate notes:

Jets prospect Kieron Walton wasn’t on the ice today. Feels like this year I’ve got way more numbers to remember/connect to a player than usual.

Health update:

Kieron Walton is listed as day-t0-day with a lower-body injury which was listed as “not too serious” by head coach Mark Morrisson.
