True North Sports & Entertainment: Proof of Vaccination to Continue thru April 30th; Arena Becomes “Mask-Friendly Venue” on March 15th

True North provided an update for the remainder of the hockey news.

In a letter released to full and partial Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose Season Ticket holders earlier today, True North Sports and Entertainment, the parent company of the Jets and Moose advised that proof of vaccination will continue to be required to enter Canada Life Centre through April 30, 2022.

The same letter contained the news that the arena will transition to a mask-friendly venue, where mask use is strongly encouraged but not required, on March 15, 2022.

In the letter, True North cites statistics from a recent Seat Holder survey, with more than 3900 respondents, that indicated:

  • 42% of respondents would be comfortable or very comfortable with having the proof vaccination requirement lifted on March 1 (in alignment with provincial orders), while 55% of respondents indicated they would be uncomfortable or very uncomfortable (with the remaining 3% communicating that they were unsure); and
  • Of those who indicated they would not be comfortable with the vaccination requirement being lifted on March 1, 90% would prefer that the vaccination requirement remain in place until at least April 30.

The letter can be read in its entirety here.
