Winnipeg Jets and Eric Comrie agree to a one-year deal

The affable netminder will be back for another year in Winnipeg according to Darren Dreger.

If you thought the Jets news was done for the night after they traded for Nate Schmidt from the Canucks you’d be wrong as TSN Hockey insider Darren Dreger reported tonight that the Jets and Eric Comrie have agreed to a one-year deal for $750,000.00. Update: The team has now confirmed the deal.

We spoke about this on Saturday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show as Comrie could end up serving as the Jets backup to Connor Hellebuyck. The two overlapped in 2015-16 with the Moose until Hellebuyck moved up to the Jets.

Comrie is a 2013 2nd round pick of Winnipeg who became the all time wins leader for the Moose last season after back to back years of riding the waiver wire to various teams across the NHL.
