The Jets hot streak continues as they won their fourth straight game as they defeat the Oilers 4-2 to kick off this western Canadian road swing with a win.  They are now 5-1-1 in last seven and with the victory tonight in Edmonton are 37-28-6 which gives them 80 points and puts them back into the first wild card spot.  They are actually just two points back of Dallas who sits third in the central although they have two games in hand on Winnipeg.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats here are the results from the game via Natural Stat Trick.

Notable:

Cody Eakin picked up his fifth point in eight games since he was acquired by Winnipeg.

Kyle Connor scored his team leading 37th and 38th goals of the season (6th in the NHL).  Also worth noting that Connor got his 200th and 201st points in his NHL career thanks for his two goals tonight. The Jets 2015 1st rounder has 105 goals and 96 assists.

Audio:

Blake Wheeler on what stands out from the game, whether it was a tough game to play given the NBA news, were players talking about it between teams, did he see this coming, what’s next for him, what would he like to see happen and what is going right for the team right now.

Kyle Connor with his reaction to the NBA news, how does he approach the next few days, his game winner/importance of the win, 201 points in his career after tonight, how distracting it was to play this game, play of Connor Hellebuyck, what’s it like being on the cusp of 40 goals, not knowing what tomorrow will bring considering he is having a career year and when they found out.

Coach Maurice:  Thoughts on the game.  Play of Kyle Connor.  The news of coronavirus during the game.  What would he like to see happen?  Winning four straight.  How will he look back on his 1600th NHL game coaching?  What does it mean to be in that coaching company?
