What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:
- Andrej Sekera looks like he’ll find himself on the outside looking in for the team’s playoff push. The games are too important now to be able to “learn” from mistakes.
- Hawks forward Troy Brouwer will miss the next two games with a knee injury. This team has bigger issues than Troy Brouwer’s knee right now.
- Rostislav Olesz has been moved to the fourth line in Florida. He doesn’t deserve to be higher than that with the games meaning so much.
- David Legwand (cheekbone) will be out of the Predators lineup for the rest of the regular season. Barry Trotz is the hands down NHL Coach of the Year if this team makes the playoffs.
- Brendan Shanahan returns to MSG for the first time tonight. He’s going to get overshadowed by Avery/Brodeur and the fact that the Rangers need this game badly.
- Alexandre Burrows on the power play? He has earned that right hasn’t he?
- Donald Brashear’s knee is getting better but he’s not quite ready to return. Will anyone notice now that playoffs are around the corner?
