The Hurricanes are close to signing first round pick Zach Boychuk to an entry-level contract. Just passing this along.
Are scouts watching the Blue Jackets closely? All the possible moves mentioned by Arace make some sense.
After last night’s exhibition game, Stars coach Dave Tippett called out Mark Fistric on a poor training camp. That’s about as controversial as you will get in the press from a guy like Tippett.
The Habs have inked Guy Carbonneau to a new deal, however, details have not yet been released. He’s a terrific coach, so that’s a great move. Let’s be honest though, there was never any doubt.
Here is the Wild’s line-up for tonight’s game versus Columbus. A very pre-season line-up.
Brent Sutter doesn’t really like the NHL season beginning in Europe. He makes some good points but the NHL is only going to increase its presence in Europe in the next few years.
Petr Prucha will not be in the line-up for the Rangers on Saturday in his native country and he isn’t happy about it. This is a tough one for Tom Renney. He wanted Prucha to have earned a spot in the line-up (which I guess he didn’t) but at the same time he had to have considered the letdown it will be to have Prucha sit out in the Czech Republic. He doesn’t seem to fit into the Rangers’ plans and there have been rumors that he is on the trade block, so a trade within the next little while wouldn’t surprise me.
Damian Cristodeo clarifies the choice of Andrej Meszaros as alternate captian in Tampa. I don’t mind this move at all.
Is this the Canucks’ line-up for game one of the regular season? Of note, Hansen really played himself onto the big club with an impressive training camp.
Sergei Fedorov will play defense tonight for the Caps. Should be fun to see how he plays.
