The Moose were playing host to the Admirals in the first game of the first round this evening to kick off the best of three series here in Winnipeg.
The team got a boost this morning when the Jets loaned Elias Salomonsson to the team but he skated in yellow, non-contact and will have to get through a contact practice on Thursday before he can play a game.
Lineup news:
No changes from yesterday’s skate.
Moose lineup:
Shaw-Gustafsson-Duehr
JAD-Zhilkin-Fagemo
Barlow-Ford-PDG
Lambert-Yager-Wahlin
Sautner-Bauer
Phillips-Clague
Anhorn-Barteaux
Milic
Notable:
Lucas Wahlin was ready for Mooose playoff hockey as he chips it in and then lays the body sending L’Heureux flying.
Brad Lambert to Colby Barlow on the PP as the pair of Jets first rounders try to get the Moose on the board with a one-timer.
Moose winger Samuel Fagemo left looking skyward as he cannot believe he didn’t score on the power play but the stick of Jordan Oesterle got in the way.
Good opportunity for a pair of Saskatoon kids (kinda) to get the Moose on the board as Brad Lambert and Brayden Yager go in on the 2 on 1 but Lambert rips it off the post.
Moose outshot the Admirals 17-11 in the middle frame including a 7-1 run in final 5:21 of 2nd but they gave up another and trailed 3-0 after 40 minutes.
Parker Ford got the Moose on the board with a big goal early in the 3rd. Nice pass by Jets prospect Colby Barlow who has his first pro playoff point.
Thomas Milic had to dig deep to keep this one out and somehow he did.
David Gustafsson that close to bringing the Moose within one but Matthew Murray, as he has done 41 other times this game, shuts the door.
The Admirals would add an empty netter and will end the night up 1-0 in the best of three series with a 4-1 victory.
