Manitoba Moose Playoff Practice Report

Latest on the Moose as they get set for game 1.

The Moose wrapped up the regular season this weekend and are in Winnipeg for most of the week while they prepare to start the Calder Cup Playoffs on Friday in Milwaukee where they will play game 1 against the Admirals a team they match up well against. As we wrote about earlier this is a Manitoba team with tremendous depth.

Practice notes:

As per Jacob Stoller of Full Press Hockey there was an appearance by David Gustafsson who has missed the last few games although he noted that the centre was wearing a yellow, non-contact jersey. Probably a good sign however that as you can see from Jacob’s lines below Gustafsson was still skating on the top line.

Lines:

Barron-Gustafsson*-Eyssimont
Malott-Suess-Lynch
Johnson-Hutchinson-Vesalainen
Polei-Maier-Jones

Samberg-Kovacevic
Chisholm-Gawanke
Heinola-Oligny

*Yellow non-contact.

Extras: Poganski, Nikkanen, Torgersson, Egle, Lundmark, Phillips

Health news:

Moose coach Mark Morrison was noncommittal when it came to the question of whether David Gustafsson would play in Milwaukee. Gustafsson’s missed the last three games at home. When he was asked about Austin Poganski, who had been dealing with a lower-body injury since mid April, he said he believed he was healthy.

Up next:

The Moose will have one more day of practice in Winnipeg on Wednesday before they jet off to Milwaukee.
