While folks were thinking there could be some trades happening at the Draft the Jets made seven selections and didn’t make any other moves. The prevailing thought is that captain Blake Wheeler could be dealt but that trade talk revolving around Mark Scheifele has cooled significantly. The other big centre in Winnipeg however in Pierre-Luc Dubois is still garnering plenty of interest and Martin Leclerc, a columnist with Radio-Canada Sports had this to say on twitter about Winnipeg, Montreal and Pierre-Luc Dubois.

The translation is roughly as follows:
I’m told the Canadiens are still working with the Winnipeg Jets with the goal of closing a deal that would bring Pierre-Luc Dubois to Montreal in the long run. The talks almost paid off in the draft last week. 1/2
With a center line consisting of Dubois, Suzuki, Dach and Evans, the rebuild could be quicker than expected. 2/2
With two years left of team control Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff isn’t in a rush to make a deal.
