Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey avoided need for surgery but probably would have missed rest of playoffs

It was a tough 2025 playoffs for Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey. He left Game 7 against the Blues in the first round for “concussion protocol” when he was on the receiving end of a hit by Oskar Sundqvist. He would only play a few minutes of that game.

Today at exit media availabilities he was asked how serious the nature of the injury he suffered in Game 6 against the Stars when his leg got caught under Mikko Rantanen.

“No surgery. Just best case. But I would have probably out for the rest of the playoffs.”

Tough news for 44 but good that it won’t impact him for next season.

Here is a link to his media availability from this morning.
