Jansen Harkins clears waivers (can be assigned to Moose); Winnipeg Jets claim Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from Caps

The Jets reduced their roster to 24 on Sunday but needed to pass Jansen Harkins through waivers before he could be assigned to the Moose of the AHL. As per Chris Johnston of TSN was not claimed (he also confirmed the claim info below) and accordingly can be assigned to Manitoba.

Harkins has been an NHL regular for the last two seasons including playing 77 games for Winnipeg last year. It has not been a straightforward path to the NHL but hard work got the 2015 2nd rounder there in the first place and his work ethic is what will get him back up there on a regular basis.

The Jets did claim Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from the Capitals. He is a 24 year old left shooting Swedish winger who played 23 games for Washington last season who had two goals and two assists. He laso played 44 games for Hershey scoring 16 goals and adding 18 assists.
