Highlights from the Winnipeg Jets Development Camp scrimmage

If you were unable to attend hfac here were some of the highlights.

It was a busy week at Jets Development Camp and while what happens on the ice over five days isn’t likely to change the organization’s evaluation of its prospects, Friday’s scrimmage provided the first opportunity for fans and media to get an up-close look at the newest members of the pipeline.

Today’s scrimmage featured a mix of 5-on-5, 4-on-4 and 3-on-3 action, giving the prospects one final chance to showcase their skills before heading home for the summer. After each period they would conclude with a shootout.

5-on-5:

The scrimmage began with Brayden Yager winning a faceoff against Moose teammate Jacob Julien. He won it back to Swedish duo Lukas Gustafsson (he’s a halfer) and Sascha Boumedienne.

Here’s 30 seconds of Viggo Björck doing stuff at Jets Development Camp as Viggomania continues to grip Winnipeg.

Only player to score during the shootout following 5 on 5 was prospect Zach Nehring (2023 3rd) who wins it for Team Blue with this nifty move.

4-on-4:

Final play of 4 on 4 is a penalty shot for Lucas Wahlin (college free agent signee) and he scored.

In this shootout a few more goals were scored which began when Viktor Klingsell (2025 5th) found the back of the net.

But Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) answered back for Team White.

Final goal of this shootout round goes to Callum Arnott who is a Jets Development Camp invitee. Showing off flashes of his uncle Jason with those hands.

3-on-3:

Jets prospect Viggo Björck runs out of room but still shows off some creativity.

Gimli’s Adam Vigfusson gets the final goal of the Jets Development Camp in the shootout which ultimately won it for Team Blue.

Worth noting that defenceman Garrett Brown (2022 4th) left the ice late in the scrimmage after he appeared to tweak something.

Following the scrimmage, the players gathered for a team photo before taking time to sign autographs, pose for pictures with fans and conduct their final media interviews prior to heading home for the summer.

We will still have plenty of reaction from this past week so stay tuned for that.
