After a five-day break the Jets were back on the ice last night skating to a 2-1 OT loss in Pittsburgh. The team flew to Columbus last night and will not have a morning skate today. Coach Maurice will speak around 4 pm so that is when we will know if there are going to be any changes and which goalie will start in net for Winnipeg.
Notes:
Coach Maurice confirms that Steve Mason will face the Blue Jackets in net. Also indicated there are some “minor bumps and bruises. Couple of not really game-time decisions, we don’t think so, but you never know.”. Didn’t really sound like there was anything too pressing.
Projected lines (updated based on pre-game skate via Ted Wyman of the Winnipeg Sun):
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers-Little-Laine
Tanev-Copp-Matthias
Lemieux-Hendricks-Dano*
Morrissey-Trouba
Enstrom-Byfuglien
Kulikov-Myers
Mason
Hellebuyck
*Joel Armia scratched for tonight
Audio:
Coach Maurice: Any lineup changes? Steve Mason in net? How much better have the Jets played since the last Columbus game? What does Mason need to do to bring his game up? On potential to have a good road trip with a win tonight. What was the day like today without a morning skate? Did he like the fire he saw from Hellebuyck after the OT winner? Anything sticks from last week’s game vs Columbus that he’d like the team to do better tonight? On Kyle Connor’s game.
