Game 70: Winnipeg Jets vs New York Islanders pre-game report

A look at the projected lineup with all the latest game info.

Almost all of the Jets skated on Friday as they prepared to get back on track after a disappointing game in New Jersey on Thursday night. Not surprisingly they worked on special teams after going 0/4 on the power play and giving up three goals on the penalty kill. The only player missing was Nikolaj Ehlers who associate coach Scott Arniel indicated was taking a maintenance day as he “had some things were lingering” and they wanted him to be fresh for today’s game.

Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press indicated Cole Perfetti draws back in (for whom is unknown), Nate Schmidt returns for Colin Miller and Connor Hellebuyck has the net.

Similar to the Devils, the Islanders are a team on the outside of the playoff picture but not so far back that all hope is lost which means they will be a desperate, hungry team when the puck drops at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The home team has lost three straight games and are 4-5-1 in their last ten which does not bode well for their playoff lives. They have lost a lot of games at home in extra time (15-9-10).
