The Jets were left licking their wounds after a testy affair against the Leafs when in favour of the visitors on Saturday night and they took Sunday off as they prepare for another tough test tonight when they welcome the Blues to town. Still no Nikolaj Ehlers for Winnipeg as he remains on IR until (at least) tomorrow.
There remains a question as to the status of Dylan Samberg.
Skate news:
As per Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet defenceman Dylan Samberg is in a non-contact jersey at skate. He gives the lines and D pairs which indicates that Dominic Toninato is on the 4th line with Maenalainen working in and Sam Gagner on the 3rd line. Although worth noting Kenny said it looks like Maenalainen is in as Toninato stayed out for extra work.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Appleton
Perfetti-Dubois-Wheeler
Barron-Lowry-Gagner
Maenalainen Gustafsson Jonsson-Fjallby
Morrissey-Pionk
Dillon-Schmidt
Stanley-Demelo
Hellebuyck
Rittich
Health update:
This is an update on Jets bench boss Rick Bowness who wasn’t feeling too well and cut his morning media availability short. The team tweeted out that Bowness will not be behind the bench “in order to get more rest following his recent bout with COVID.”. Tough news for the bench boss who will miss his fifth game but all that matters is his health.
Betway Odds:
The Blues are coming off a 2-0 shutout of the Oilers but somewhat surprisingly the odds are rather close with them slightly favouring the visitors. Given that Winnipeg doesn’t want to fall to 2-4-0 on the season you can expect a motivated group ahead of puck drop against St. Louis. Be sure to check out the latest game day odds from Betway.
