The Jets are coming off an improbable 7-4 win over the back-to-back defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning which concluded four straight games in Winnipeg. The Jets will look to get the three-game road trip off on the right skate against a New Jersey Devils team that sits in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division although they are coming off an impressive 5-3 comeback win against the Colorado Avalanche.
It seems like it was ages ago but it was just 14 months ago that Eric Comrie was claimed by the Devils. Comrie only played one game (a win in Buffalo against the Sabres) before he was claimed back by the Jets just over a month after they lost him. Comrie has won his last three starts so it will be interesting to see if the Jets give him a shot against his “old team” or if they continue to ride Connor Hellebuyck.
Morning skate:
As per Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet it appears the Jets will go with Eric Comrie in net. Wieber also indicated that the lines remain unchanged for Winnipeg from the last game against Tampa Bay.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Stastny-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Dubois-Svechnikov
Copp-Lowry-Ehlers
Vesalainen-Toninato-Harkins
