Today was supposed to be focused on the fifth game of the season for the Jets but instead a Darren Dreger bomb on Friday night turned things upside down. Of course shortly after 9:30 AM CT the news broke that the Jets and Blue Jackets pulled off a massive blockbuster deal involving Patrik Laine and Pierre-Luc Dubois as the main pieces. As you might expect this became the focus for the entire day.
Transaction news:
Five moves were made today by the Jets ahead of puck drop. The one that was most notable was the move of Ville Heinola from the roster to the taxi squad which answered yesterday’s question as to who would be coming out of the lineup for Dylan DeMelo who makes his season debut tonight.
Roster news:
The only insight we got was that DeMelo comes in and Heinola comes out. We learned on Friday that Jansen Harkins will slide into the middle for the injured Nate Thompson and that Kristian Vesalainen will make his season debut for the Jets although it wasn’t clear where he will slot in. Stay tuned for warm up skate for greater clarity.
