Game 49: Jets vs. Sharks pre-game report

A look at the game 49 projected lineups and audio from coach Maurice.

SAP Center

Each team was able to win at home in the first couple of games in this series.  The third and final game between these two Western Conference foes happens at SAP Center.  The “morning skate” for the Jets begins at 11:30 PST (which is 1:30 pm CST) and puck drop is at 9:30 pm CST.

Coach Maurice indicated that Adam Lowry could possibly be available for today’s game so we will have to see what happens at the morning skate so that could change the below lines which are based on the game Sunday against the Canucks.  The team recalled Brendan Lemieux on Monday to provide some insurance at forward.

Morning skate notes:

Ted Wyman of the Winnipeg Sun reporting that Adam Lowry remains in a non-contact uniform at today’s skate in San Jose.

Projected Jets lines, D pairs and goalies:

Connor – Wheeler – Laine
Perreault- Little – Ehlers
Tanev – Copp – Armia
Dano – Hendricks – Roslovic

Morrissey-Trouba
Kulikov-Myers

Extra:  Lemieux
Injured:  Lowry, Matthias, Scheifele, Mason

Health Update:

Previously the Jets bench boss was optimistic that he could have Adam Lowry back in the lineup for tonight’s game but as Ted indicated, the tall centre was wearing a non-contact uniform during today’s skate.  Coach Maurice indicated that the Alberta native is “Better.  He’s not going tonight.  We’re, I don’t know if patient is the right word, but we certainly want to make sure he feels completely confident in his injury before he goes.  So he’s good enough to get around.  We haven’t gotten him into banging yet.  That’s the next phase.  We are getting closer to the idea that we will wait till after the (All-Star) break.”.

Coach Maurice pre-game scrum topics: Thoughts on the way the teams have played in the first couple of games. Adam Lowry update. Assessing Dmitry Kulikov. What are they building on at this point in season which will serve them well later in season? Uniqueness of coming off five-day break and then going into an All-Star break. Will he run his bench any differently these last two games before All-Star break? Looking at the scoreboard lately with respect to the central division.
