Game 40: Jets vs Canucks pre-game report

A look at the projected lineups and pre-game interviews

The Jets have won four straight games coming into today’s action which sees them sitting 2nd in the Central just one point back of the Stars with a game in hand. They also know that the Wild continue rise up so points continue to be at a premium. The Canucks won their last game but are 5-5-0 in their last ten contests.

We did see Saku Maenalanen wearing a light blue which would appear to suggest light contact but it seems unlikely that Winnipeg will rush him back given the way this team continues to roll along. The only real question mark is which goalie will they start in net? It has been 16 days since David Rittich last started a game but Connor Hellebuyck, as he usually is, has been a significant reason why the Jets are taking home two points on a consistent basis.

Skate news:

No skate this morning.

Warm-up skate:

David Rittich led the Jets out and will start his 10th game for Winnipeg. Both David Gustafsson and Ville Heinola, who were healthy scratches last game, came out for a skate but didn’t take part in rushes.

Jets projected lines & D pairs:

Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
Perfetti-Scheifele-Wheeler
Barron-Lowry-Kuhlman
Jonson-Fjallby Stenlund Gagner

Morrissey-DeMelo
Dillon-Pionk
Samberg-Schmidt

Rittich
Hellebuyck

Betway Odds:

The Jets have managed to keep the puck out of their net a lot this season. They, along with the Bruins, are the only two teams left with under 100 goals against this season. Conversely the Canucks, who have played one fewer game, have given up 146 goals to date. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the home team are heavily favoured in this game.
