Game 39: Jets 4 Lightning 2 post-game recap

Post-game recap and interviews with Jets players as well as head coach Rick Bowness.

The Jets win their fourth in a row as they defeat their old Southeast Division rival Lightning 4-2 and improve to 25-13-1 on the season.

Notable:

Big night for Pierre-Luc Dubois who played in his 400th NHL game.

A reluctant Rick Bowness accepted the congrats from Winnipeg fans for coaching in his 2600th game. This morning he wanted the focus on the game against the Bolts and not his own personal accolades.

The Southeast Division hate was strong between two teams that only face each other twice per season. It even looked like Connor Hellebuyck was gonna even join the fracas.

Josh Morrissey up to 39 assists in 39 games.

Kyle Connor is now the All-Time Jets/Thrashers game-winning goals leader with 41. He passed Ilya Kovalchuk (40).

Connor in 423 games
Kovalchuk in 588 games.

He had passed Blake Wheeler (39) for Jets 2.0 lead. And he had long passed Doug Smail (31) for Jets 1.0.

Adam Lowry set a new career high for assists with his 15th of the season. He’s up to 22 points in 39 games for the Jets and is on pace 46 points this season. He had 21 pts in 79 games last year. Career high was 29 pts in 2016-17.

Fun fact: Tonight the Jets won game 25 in their 39th game. Last year they won game 25 in game 57. Both times the win was against the Lightning.

Multi Point Game:

Pierre-Luc Dubois 2G
