Game 30: Jets 5 Canucks 1 post-game recap

Post-game recap and interviews with Jets players as well as head coach Rick Bowness.

The Jets won their fifth straight game on the road as they defeat the Canucks 5-0 in Vancouver to improve to 20-9-1. They didn’t achieve their 20th win of the season last year until game 45 but got it done in game 30 in 2022-23.

Notable:

With the assist on the opening Jets goal Josh Morrissey (5G 29A) is just three points shy of his career of 37 points. It’s game 30. He hit 37 last year in 79 games. It was also his 200th point in the NHL.

Morrissey now on an eight-game points streak.

Kyle Capobianco picked up his first for the Jets. And you doubted putting him in the lineup….

Continuing the theme of getting offence from the defence Neal Pionk scored his fifth goal of the season to make it 3-0 for the Jets.

Veteran forward Sam Gagner has his second goal in three games as he made it 4-0 early in the 3rd.

Pierre-Luc Dubois is on pace for a 90 point season. His career high was 61 in 2018-19. He had 60 last season in what was seen as a good year for him. He gonna get paid.

Last season Kyle Connor set a career high for assists with 46 in 79 games. This year he is on pace for just shy of 60. Not just a lethal goal scorer, he can pass really, really well. No surprise given his career goals (191) and assists (187) are almost equal. #NHLJets

Seven point night for the Connor, Dubois and Gagner line.

And the barrage continued as Axel Jonsson-Fjallby made it 5-0 with his second as a member of the Jets off a nice stretch pass by Dylan Samberg.

Multi Point Game:

Pierre-Luc Dubois 3A
Kyle Connor 1G 1A
Sam Gagner 1G 1A
