Game 3: Jets vs. Islanders projected lines

A look at the game 3 projected lineups and pre-game audio.

The Jets were off yesterday following their epic four goal comeback which ultimatley saw them defeat the Devils in a shootout on Friday night.  Biggest questions heading into the game is whether 2018 2nd rounder David Gustafsson and waiver wire acquisition Carl Dahlstrom will get into the lineup.

The Islanders have only played one game so far this season which saw them drop a 2-1 decision to the Capitals.

Morning Skate notes:

As per Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV today sees the return of Bryan Little in a non-contact uniform as he continues to recover from the concussion he suffered in the final pre-season game.  Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press indicated it continues to be David Gustafsson and Carl Dahlstrom doing extra work and he also reports that Laurent Brossoit was the first goalie off the ice and looks to get the start.

Update:  Late change for the Jets as Josh Morrissey was a late scratch after taking the pre-game skate and Carl Dahlstrom will play in his stead.

Coach Maurice:  On the decision to start Laurent Brossoit in net.  Does he have to have a conversation with Hellebuyck?  Bryan Little skating with the group.  More on Gustafsson and Dahlstrom.  What stands out from the third line?  Does he expect a different game with the Islanders (more defensive style)?  Is it good for his team to play a game like he expects tonight?  Is this as close to a home game regarding the intimacy of the building?

Health Update:

With Bryan Little in a non-contact jersey the Jets bench boss was asked for an update and about the fact that Little was on the ice for the skate “Step forward.  We’ll see how he feels.  You get him out there with a lot of traffic and motion and see how they feel after.  So he’s moving closer.  I still don’t think he’s ready for Pitt (on Tuesday) cause he’d need more than one full contact practice.  So we’ll get him through at least one of two more in the gold (non-contact jersey).”
