Game 15: Jets 5 Oilers 2 post-game recap

Post-game recap and interviews with Jets players as well as from Coach Maurice.

Jets with a big win over the Oilers as they hold on for a 5-2 win and go 5-1-1 on their seven-game homestand and are 7-1-1 at Canada Life Centre. With losses by Minnesota and St. Louis the win moves Winnipeg into top spot in the Central.

With tonight’s game Mark Scheifele slides into a tie with the S in GST aka Jim Slater for 7th on the all time franchise regular season games played list with game number 584.

The Jets played a solid period as a team to open the contest. Had quite a bit of possession and supported each other when they didn’t.  Held a 7-1 high-danger chances edge over the Oilers after one period of play.

Seems appropriate that that slapshot goal by Nikolaj Ehlers tied him with Patrik Laine for 7th on the all-time franchise list with 140 career NHL goals. And also seems appropriate that he was shown on the bench being congratulated by Vesa-Laine-n.

Pierre-Luc Dubois numbers as a Jets so far:
2021-22 season: 15GP 9G
2020-21 season: 41GP 8G The bounce back is very real.

Nate Schmidt also continues to produce as a member of this Jets team:
2021-22: 11PTS in 15GP
2020-21: 15PTS in 54GP

Winger Kyle Connor has his 12th goal in game number 15.
