Game 15: Jets 3 Ducks 2 post-game recap

Post-game recap and interviews with Jets players as well as head coach Rick Bowness.

Fitting on a night honouring Teemu Selanne and Teppo Numminen the Jets win it 3-2 over the Ducks courtesy of a Kyle Connor hat trick. Winnipeg woke up late but take it and improve to 10-4-1 on the season.

Notable (Hall of Fame jersey raised to rafters):

Several Jets 1.0 alumni including Pat Elynuik, Randy Gilhen, Darrin Shannon and Thomas Steen were all part of the ceremony to honour Teppo and Teemu.

Former Jets 1.0 captain Thomas Steen got huge cheers from the Winnipeg crowd when he got out on the ice.

But the biggest cheers were for Teppo and Teemu.

Nice touch by the organization to let Finnish forward Saku Maenalanen take the ceremonial puck drop from Numminen and Selanne.

Some good nostalgia from the Jets to have the Winnipeg 1.0 anthem singer Jennifer Hanson signing the national anthems tonight.

And I wasn’t sure if this is the original 52..53…54 banner or not but who cares. Nice touch to bring this classic on the night Teemu’s jersey gets raised to the rafters in Winnipeg.

Teemu and Teppo spoke about having a brotherly connection and that’s evident as the two warmly embraced each other during the Hall of Fame ceremony here in Winnipeg.

Lots of Jets 1.0 in the building or sending messages and the funniest line belonged to Kris King who said “Teppo I am surprised you’re allowing Teemu to be part of your big day”.

Notable (game):

On the opening goal of the game Josh Morrissey picked up his 15th assist of the season in game number 15. Quest for 82 in 82 continues.

Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck with some milestones in the game as he achieved his 11,000th save and also faced his 12,000th shot of his NHL career. Since he joined Winnipeg in 2015-16 no other goalie has faced more shots.

On the second Jets goal Mark Scheifele picked up the 350th assist of his NHL career.

The hats would rain down as Kyle Connor picked up the first hat trick of the Jets season (and third of his career).

Multi Point Game:

Kyle Connor 3G
Mark Scheifele 2A
