The winless skid hit five games (0-3-2) after the Jets suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Canadiens on Sunday in the Heritage Classic in Winnipeg. The team took yesterday off to try to reset as they welcome the Panthers to town to conclude two games at home. Florida is coming off a 3-2 victory over Chicago two days back.
It’s been almost three weeks since Josh Morrissey sustained his injury so perhaps today we get an update on his week-to-week status. As well Vlad Namestnikov has been out close to two weeks with an injury that was also labelled as week-to-week.
While we expect the lines to look different once the skate gets underway, for now they look like how they started off in the Heritage Classic.

Odds:
The Jets head into tonight’s matchup against the Panthers with Florida holding a slight edge. Winnipeg will need a more complete effort against a team that has established itself as one of the NHL’s toughest opponents. Generating more quality scoring chances, capitalizing on opportunities with the man advantage and limiting costly mistakes will be key if the Jets hope to turn things around.
