When Elliotte Friedman reported that Pierre-Luc Dubois had advised the Jets his current plan would be to test free agency in two years it clearly led to all sorts of speculation about the centre being in Winnipeg long-term. Friedman did say the team was still interested in keeping him in Manitoba.
Today Francois Gagnon of RDS is reporting that the Jets and Rangers may have been having conversations about a potential deal. This is what he said in French with the English translation below:
En passant, selon des informations obtenues au cours de la finale, les #Rangers de New York seraient plus qu’intéressés à acquérir Pierre-Luc Dubois. Négos en cours avec les #Jets sur les paramètres d’une transaction. Ce n’est pas chose faite, mais Chris Drury est très intéressé

From a French speaking friend of host of the Illegal Curve Hockey Show Drew Mindell we have this translation:
“In passing, based on information obtained throughout the cup finals, the Rangers would be more than interested in acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois. Negotiations are ongoing with the Jets working out potential parameters of a transaction. It’s not a done deal, but Drury is very interested”
Of course this type of speculation will only ramp up as the Draft gets closer and closer because that is where a lot of things take place.
