Paul Stastny joined the Jets (the first time) in a trade from the Blues back in 2017-18 and was part of the Winnipeg run to the Western Conference Finals.
He left for Vegas the following season but would eventually return via trade for 2020-21. He signed a one-year deal in 2021-22 putting up his best numbers in years (21G 24A for 45PTS in 71 games).
He was quite open with his end of season comments which led many to suspect his time in Winnipeg was at an end. He had some big milestones in Manitoba hitting the 1000 game mark with the Winnipeg Jets as well as the 800 point mark.
Today the Hurricanes announced they have signed him to a one-year deal at 1.5 million.
Before departing Winnipeg for St. Louis the Jets hit the ice for a skate.
